Overview
Food security rests on a foundation of opportunities for economic security: robust federal food and nutrition programs, a strong emergency food network, and a vibrant, affordable and accessible food system.
The Wisconsin Food Security Project is a comprehensive resource for visualizing and downloading data on food security and its foundations across Wisconsin. It aims to support and empower planners, policymakers, and local stakeholders by providing detailed state and local information to inform local food security initiatives.
Supported by the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s School of Human Ecology, the Applied Population Lab, and the UW Extension Institute for Health & Well-Being. The project is coordinated by Judi Bartfeld.
