What We Do
The project uses proven strategies rooted in Menominee cultural values to help prevent and manage chronic health conditions in the community. The grant started in October 2018 and continued through September 2023.
A new five-year grant began in October 2023 and continues through September 2028.
Farm to Early Care and Education (ECE)
We support Farm to ECE programs by linking local farmers with childcare centers, bringing fresh, local food to young children.
Food and Nutrition
We work with community partners to promote food service and nutrition guidelines. We also support programs that provide fruit and vegetable vouchers and produce prescriptions, making it easier for families to access fresh foods.
Food Systems
We collaborate with local partners to strengthen the food system so everyone can access healthy, culturally relevant foods.
Safe and Accessible Physical Activity
We support community design changes, like adding sidewalks, trails, and safe spaces, that make it easier and safer for people to be physically active.
